Description
Nexus 820 – Premium Vinyl Sheet Adhesive – 15L
Surface preparation
All surfaces to be bonded should be dry, smooth, and free of any contaminates that may affect final bond. All surfaces must be prepared in accordance with current Australian Standards 1884 Floor Coverings Resilient Sheet including moisture testing. Nexus 820 can be applied to concrete substrates with moisture content up to 85% RH (relative humidity) and falling. This RH should be measured by deploying the in-situ probe method (in accordance with ASTM F2170). Nexus 820 can be applied to concrete substrate with pH readings up to 10.0. It is recommended that all highly absorbent sub floors be primed with Nexus 510 Acrylic Floor & Wall Primer prior to the application of adhesive. The minimum sub floor temperature prior to commencing preparation or adhesive application is 10°C.
Directions for use
Apply adhesive using a 1.6mm x 1.6mm x 1.6mm “V” notched spreader. Coverage should be in the vicinity of 5m² per litre. Some domestic sheet vinyl may require a fine 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.8mm“U” notched trowel to prevent adhesive ‘show through’. Adhesive can be allowed to tack-up prior to placing the floor covering into the wet film of adhesive. Tack-up time will depend on atmospheric conditions. Always ensure complete transfer of adhesive to the floorcovering has occurred.
Complete installation according to manufacturer’s instructions. Roll installation on completion with the recommended weight roller. Do not allow heavy traffic for 24 hours. Seams of domestic vinyl should be sealed using Nexus 460 Vinyl Seam Sealer.
Clean up
Clean tools immediately after use with warm soapy water. Dried adhesive may be softened using a suitable solvent like Nexus 490.
